Graduate Students

Adriana Avraam, MA

Adriana completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology at Toronto Metropolitan and her Masters of Arts at Ontario Tech University. Her current research interests focus on the intersection of police reform readiness, racial bias and community governance cross-nationally.

Ashu Kito, BA

Ashu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology (Criminology) from MacEwan University. Her current research interests focus on race and racism as it pertains to Black female youth and their experiences with policing in the Prairies.

Sara Blair, MA

Sara completed both her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Masters of Arts in Criminology and Social Justice at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her current research interests focus on the role of non-traditional policing through a dual perspective approach.

Kathy-Ann Murray, BA

Kathy-Ann holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth studies from Trent University. Her current research interests focus on Black maternal healthcare harm and institutional accountability with notable attention to equitable outcomes for Black women and their families.

Felicia De Sousa, MA

Felicia completed both her Honours Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts in Criminology at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her current research interests focus on understanding the intersectionality of marginalized identities as it pertains to the school-to-prison pipeline.
